 Football, or soccer as it’s called in some parts of the world, has a set of rules that govern how the game is played. Here’s an overview of the basics: 1. Teams and Players: Each team has 11 players, including one goalkeeper. Substitutions are allowed based on competition rules. 2. Duration of the Game A match is played in two halves, each lasting 45 minutes, with a 15-minute halftime break. Extra time or penalty shootouts may occur in certain competitions if the score is tied. 3. The Objective The aim is to score more goals than the opposing team. A goal is scored when the entire ball crosses the goal line between the goalposts and beneath the crossbar. 4. The Ball in Play  The ball remains in play unless it fully crosses the goal line or touchline, or if the referee stops play. 5.
